"Ethan Green" movie?

Has anyone seen “The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green” (the movie version of the gay comic strip)? It’s been making the rounds at various Gay & Lesbian Film Festivals lately, and is playing at the NC G&L Film Festival next week. I enjoy the comic, but I’ve not heard anything about the movie beyond the casting (Meredith Baxter(!) is apparently the biggest name in the cast, and that hot kid with the abs from "Camp" is playing Ethan). Trying to decide it it’s worth an hour’s drive on a work night. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Daniel Letterle- I can only hope he's naked a lot or has improved his acting as he was painfully awkward in Camp.

I have heard NOTHING about this except the usual gushing reviews in the gay press. I decided a LONG time ago that the "gay film festival fare" was usually pretty dismal. The good ones are the exception NOT the rule.

I agree, Joe. I don't know about this film, but long gone are the days I would see any gay themed film. Too many are just soooo bad.

I read through the list of films showing at the festival and this was the only one that jumped out at me. I know what you guys mean, though; I used to work at a gay bookstore and we received promo copies of most of the G&L independent films released on video, so I would see them all. I can probably count on one hand the number I’d watch a second time. And the only thing worse than a bad independent gay film is a bad independent lesbian film (did you ever see “Claire of the Moon”?...yeesh).
