I enjoyed it. Pretty moving piece. But, I'm a fan of all of Mendes' work...and Jake's butt.
It's actually quite funny in some parts. But there are outstanding performances all around. Gyllenhall and Foxx especially give a-m-a-z-i-n-g performances.
I think it's my favorite war movie. I don't know why but I just don't like movies that contain too many graphic scenes. I mean, yes, you cannot ignore them. But sometimes I feel war movies rely on them too much to get the point across.
This movie was very serious but had a beautiful story to tell. There are some action scenes, but the movie really stays faithful to the story of the character Jake portrays.
It was a bit long, but not to the point where I got annoyed. Had it gone any farther, I may have gotten a bit fidgety. But, overall, I enjoyed it thoroughly. And this is coming from someone who had no original plans to see it.
And HOO HAH is Jake in shape! (Did I just say, HOO HAH?!?) Sorry they're the only words I could form when I saw his...form. I CANNOT wait for "Brokeback Mountain."
So exactly how much of Jake do we get to see?
A very decent amount
do we get "the full monty" in this movie?
Thanks for your thoughts...I'm very excited for the movie...and Jake :0)
