Fall for Dance

Did anyone go last night to the first program of Fall for Dance at City Center or is anyone planning on going? Reviews? I wish I could go!!

I went tonight; very enjoyable! Reviews aren't my thing, but the obvious crowd favorite was Lil Buck- his interpretation of the dying swan made the audience go wild. (You can see it on YouTube if you want to see some truly crazy footwork.) It was my first time seeing the Joffrey Ballet and I liked the piece they performed ("Woven Dreams") quite a bit. There was a stunning fabric lattice suspended from the fly space, and the dancers, especially the two female principals and male lead, were so graceful and athletic- they looked like they were having a great time. Mark Morris DC was a pleasure to watch, as always. I wasn't blown away by Trisha Brown Dance Company; it was interesting to watch the general movement of the two dancers, but the piece didn't really hold my attention.

Looking forward to Program 2 on Sunday night!
