Personally, I find these people really stupid. I'm going to guess that the cat probably feels threatened and jealous of the baby. But, even if the cat was very friendly, you still have to monitor it with your children. I'm also angry that they decided that spanking the cat was the answer to the cat swatting the baby on the face. No wonder he was mad. I'm also worried that he acts out because they do hit him a lot. And I can't believe after this that they are even thinking about keeping the cat. Let him go to a family that will appreciate him. He'd probably do fine in a home without small children.
