'Family Feud' host Richard Dawson dies at age 79.

Richard Dawson, the original host of 'Family Feud' died last night from complications related to esophageal cancer, according to ABC News. He starred in 'Hogan’s Heroes' and appeared on 'The New Dick Van Dyke Show' and 'Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In', but he’s best known for turning 'Feud' into a cultural phenomenon after it debuted in 1976.

I enjoyed watching him on 'Family Feud' and 'Match Game' on GSN. RIP.

I was too young to remember HOGANS HEROES but My parents use to LOVE watching Family Feud. My Mom had the biggest crush on him. After seeing him in the movie THE RUNNING MAN (IMO an under rated film and I thought Richard upstaged Arnold big time) I thought his acting career would take off again. Yes, he was playing himself in that film, a game show host,but I thought he made a very good villain. He had the right amount of charm and arrogance you don't see in to many bad guys today.

Oh, and don't even get me started with him on MATCH GAME. He was one of the best!

I remember him on Hogan's Heroes. He was a great host on Family Feud kissing all the women.

My grandmother always said he was probably the main spreader of mono in the US.
