Can someone list the titles and composers of some works that you might hear at the Oscars?

What I am looking for are those orchestra scores that everyone recognizes but doesn't know what it is from nor who wrote it because it's used in several movies and every so often at the Oscars or other award shows.

I'm told some of these "orchestrations" I am looking for are from movies and are re-used very often in other movies, movie trailers, commercials, and television shows. And some of the orchestrations were composed by classical artists such as Beethoveen, Vivaldi, Verdi, etc.

THANKS!

For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Carmina Burana (Orff) is SO overused in movie trailers it isn't even funny. Any time there is a period action flick with lots of mud and horses... Carmina Burana.

Also Ennio Morricone's cues from "The Mission" are played quite a lot.

Oh, and Samuel Barber's "Adagio for Strings" has been used in several films and trailers. (The Elephant Man "death scene" as well as "Platoon"). Great "sad" music.

EDIT: I thought of another one from "back in the day." Max Steiner's recognizable theme for "Now Voyager" with Bette Davis was recycled in something like EIGHT films after that. You can hear it several times in that film, particularly at the end when Davis and Paul Henried exchange cigs and say, "Don't lets ask for the moon," etc. A beautiful melody, but used several times in other films and trailers of the '40s and '50s.

A couple of movies whose orchestral score gets recycled all the time are James Horner's score for Glory and Michael Kamen's score for Robin Hood: Prince of Theives. You will hear the orchestral music from both of these movies all the time as background to video montages, previews, trailers, etc.

Any Tim Burton movie trailer can be depended upon to recycle music from BEETLEJUICE or NIGHTMARE BEFORE XMAS.
