Absolutely NYAdGal. I love me some buttercrunch. There's an ice cream place here in DC that makes it, but it's called butter brickle and it reminds me so much of the Friendly's verions.

Olive Oil gelato? Hmmmm sounds almost healthy. Trader Joe's carries the most wonderful Vanilla Gelato. Yummy

I work p/t at Williams-Sonoma and we made Olive Oil gelato one weekend. It was very interesting to say the least.

Years ago in NYC I had parmigiano gelato and it was out of this world. I can't remember the name of the restaurant in Greenwich Village that featured it, but they are no longer in business.

olive oil gelato is unbelievably rich. And they make it more interesting by adding sea salt crystals to cut the richness...

Addy, when I was a little girl, we used to go to the local dairy in the summer to get ice cream - a Sunday evening treat - and I always got peppermint stick.

We used to go to a diary farm too--it was soo cool watching them milk the cows!

But the farm's BIG highlight: an ELECTRIC fly-swatter!!! :)

No one has mentioned my favorite flavor ............Pistachio! It has to be the real thing with nothing artifical added. I also like green tea ice cream which I have enjoyed in Japanese restarants in California.

My mother gets Green Tea ice cream when we go for Sushi...

Mmmmm -- full fat coffee ice cream. None of that sissy low-fat or fat-free garbage. Although I also like peppermint stick, it's so festive and cheery around the holidays.
