"For Ladies Only" about male strippers, with Patty Davis and Gregory Harrison
He's wearing that "Z" with pride...
I remember FOR LADIES ONLY. It also starred the Beastmaster himself, Marc Singer.
guy...wouldnt you?
this movie was actually considered SCANDALOUS in 1982.

In a Child's Name (aka The Evil Dentist Movie). Grieving Valerie Bertinelli seeks justice and custody of her nephew when her sister is murdered by, well, an evil dentist (VERY creepy Michael Ontkean). Louise Fletcher is her sister's wacky mother-in-law (you must see the day-glo "blood-on-the-walls" scene), a young Chris Meloni is Val's blue collar hubby and the guy who played Tyne Daly's husband on Cagney and Lacey is her dad. So. Freaking. AWESOME. I love Valerie.

A young Chris Meloni, huh? I could go for some o' dat! Do we have a DVD?

He's kind of awkward looking in it, actually, not Oz hot. It was out on VHS, but not sure if it was ever relased on DVD. I am going to get the DVD with the built-in TiVo soon (don't you think they should have named it the DVDiVo?), so I'll record it when it airs (Lifetime always shows it a couple of times a year)
I can't believe no one said 'Lace' -
"Which one of you bitches is my mother?!"
Favorite recent ones would be the one that was on Lifetime a few weeks ago about this girl whose dance teacher is obsessed with her and breaks up her parents' marriage and tries to kill her mother.
Second would have to be the one about the teenage prostitute who puts her pimp in jail and then becomes Miss Susie Homemaker with two kids and a political husband and then the pimp comes out of jail and gets back at her by making her a whore again.
Geek, those are real movies? They sound a bit far-fetched... even for a Lifetime film.

Forgot about Lace! It was great.
So was Empty Cradle. Kate Jackson played an infertile obstetrics nurse who faked a pregnancy, convincing a hospital patient (Lori Loughlin) her child died a stillborn. She stole the baby girl, kept it as her own, but her boyfriend wanted a boy so she faked another pregnancy. Lori knew something was wrong but everyone else was convinced her she was nuts. Trashy but fun to watch.
IN A CHILD'S NAME isn't trashy, though. It's one of the very best made for television films, imo.

I agree that it was fantastic, John, but it had just enough campiness that I (personally) categorize it as a great trashy movie! (Louise Fletcher's strange performance as Theresa's batsh-t crazy mother-in-law, the so poorly acted it was awful portrayal of the guy who played the doped up brother, the insane way Evil Dentist spoke, and the ca-raaay-zy crime scene complete with melodramatic music (and glow in the dark blood!). Despite all of this stuff, it's actually touching. It's a TV melodrama I can watch over and over.
And, it was true. Including the glow in the dark blood. Luminal! Anyone remember, from WAY back, MAYBE I'LL COME HOME IN THE SPRING, with Sally Field and Eleanor Parker? - "Did you bring boys into this house, drugs into this house?!"

BIG TOP PEE-WEE - 1988
starring Paul Reubens as Pee-Wee Herman
And yes folks, this one is available on DVD:
Big Top Pee-Wee on Dee-Vee D
"Back When We Were Grownups" was trashy?
BIG TOP PEE-WEE premiered the week following Mr. Reubens' first arrest for indecent exposure.
BACK WHEN WE WERE GROWNUPS was quiet trash, but trash nonetheless.
Big Top PeeWee was a theatrical release first, tho.

There's a real trash-tastic one I watched when I was little that stayed with me. Anyone else remember Diary of a Teenage Hitchhiker with Charlene Tilton? I think the dead older sister from Poltergeist was in it, too.
If you want to talk about trashy tv movies with Faye Dunaway then you can't forget Beverly Hills Madam.
Another I'd add to this list is Making of a Male Model with Joan Collins and the late Jon-Erik Hexum.

Featuring Jeff Conaway as bitter, washed up male model who sneers and says things like "What do you care?! Mr. Sex Symbol of these United States.”
Jon Erik Hexum in 'Making of a Male Model' (1983)
