Love Depp, LOVE Winslet and they're both great, I just don't think the actual movie is nearly as good as its being given credit for. It seemed to sidestep anything interesting just to over-deliver sap.
To be fair, I have a leaning AGAINST Peter Pan. I just hate that story, so some of the resonance might have been lost on me but, at the same time, it's not that I didn't get the points linking Barrie's life to his work, I just didn't think the movie brought anything out especially well.

Posted: 12/28/04 at 3:53pmPopa, I fully understand your leaning against Peter pan. I HATE what it has been turned into. The "ture" story is much darker and adult than what we are given now adays. They water it down to children's theatre when it is far from it.
