Normally I hate fire drills. The nursery school at the temple had to have one this morning, and it was SO NICE to go outside in the sun. I got a Jamba Juice smoothie, got to leave the office, and we get to have another drill this afternoon! Hooray for fire drills!

***this only applies during nice weather days. Fire drills in the wintertime or rain suck.

Really, is there anything more fun than a false fire alarm at 4 in the morning during finals in the snow?

I remember all those college nights (well, mornings between 2 and 6am) when a drunken co-ed would pull the alarm, and we'd all have to go outside in our PJs and freeze. And it happened so often that we would just ignore the alarm and sleep through it. Glad there was never a real fire!

when i was in highschool people always pulled them to get out of class. they had good intentions but PUH-LESE it was 40 below outside and everyone would rather burn to death and stay in the school than go out there in blowing snow :P

Liotte, someone in my freshman dorm actually managed to burn soup. Now, you'd think it would be almost impossible to burn something that's mostly liquid, but once the water is evaporated away, evidently it's quite possible indeed.

Plum, someone in my freshman dorm managed to set a poptart on fire, in the microwave! Other highlights of that dorm include one floor spraying their fire extinguisher all over the hall (the alarm went off every five minutes for an hour while they cleaned that up); a guy who pulled the fire alarm and then passed out underneath it because he was just that drunk; a guy was smoking pot and managed to fill his room with that much smoke. The next year I transfered to a different school and moved into an all girls dorm that was mostly populated with upperclassman. I never had to stand outside in my pajamas at 4 in the morning again.

Well, other than the flaming popcorn bag incident, my dorm last year was actually okay in terms of fire drills. I did hear a very entertaining story of someone last year who set their toast on fire, then tried to put it out by putting the toaster in the freezer. Genius.

Fire drills, what a hoot.

But my favs were always Hurricane Drills! Living in North Carolina, we had PLENTY of those.

You'd get to huddle up with other boys and all stick your head between your legs and your arms over your head.

...so maybe that's why I'm a bottom.

I loved the drills we had when I was in grade-school where they made us hide under our desks in case they dropped the bomb.

I got in trouble when I asked the teacher, "What good is hiding under a desk? Is it so our bodies can be easily located?"

Yes, it's so awesome when something that has taken our precious tax dollars to build just burns.

SCORE!

Fire drills are okay when it is nice outside other then that they suck. Last year in Jan it was really cold. So in order to warm up the class rooms the heat had to be blasted. This caused the bloier room to fill with smoke and the fire alarm went off. Nothing like being outside in 5 degree weather with out your jacket or gloves for almost a half hour.

In 6th grade, the new math teacher mixed up the fire and tornado drills, so we ended up running outside for the tornado drill and we were huddled up against the walls for the fire drill.

I hate fire drills. The reason is because we are the one out of the three classrooms that has a fire alarm inside. It's deafening.

Thats not fun, Yesterday the fire alarm went off and no one noticed since the door was closed and we were watching a movie. Luckly on person did noticed and we left the room.
