I was disgusted by the speech Rove gave earlier this week when he once again tried to use the 9/11 tragedy to divide Americans for craven political gain. Here's what he said:

"Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers."

This is just a shameless lie. We all saw the swell of unprecedented national unity in the wake of that terrible day. In fact, every single Senate Democrat voted to authorize the use of force against Osama bin Laden and his allies in Afghanistan.

Karl Rove is abusing the memory of 9/11 in order to score cheap political points and is spreading lies to impugn the values of Democrats who love their country, so it's time for him to go. That's why the DSCC has launched a brand new petition calling on George Bush to fire Karl Rove. Sign our petition today.

Karl Rove was speaking from prepared remarks. You know that kind of thing gets approved at the very highest levels of the White House. But he said it anyway. Why? Because he wants to distract you from the fact that George Bush and Karl Rove have no plan for success in Iraq.

What Rove said was offensive. Why he said it is disgusting. George Bush should fire him immediately.

Another "dream on", but Rove needs to accept that he went way over the boundaries of his or anyone's job and ought to resign.

it's not a reaction to the durbin statement. it's a carefully choreographed and integrated tactic foreshadowing '06. the fact that karl used the word "liberal" as opposed to democrat is the key. liberal is still a dirty word in american politics as evidenced by most liberal groups desire to now be seen as "progressive." the words he used were carefully chosen as evidenced by the gop email that went out the next day chery-picking quotes from "progressives" which echoed the very statement that he made. the evidence is there to back up his comments.

the only sketchy commeent out of the batch is his assigning motive to some for their statements. the motive being to give aid and comfort to the enemy in a time of war. but, cry all ya want, it's not getting retracted and will only bolster the case against those who choose to identify themselves with statements like george soros' "the terrorist attack on the united states could have been treated as a crime against humanity rather than an act of war. treating it as a crime would have been more appropriate." which is exactly what rovey baby was talking about.

I'd like to ask Karl and his puppies to stand anywhere in the vincinity of Ground Zero and repeat Karl's fatuous, lying remarks to a crowd of New Yorkers.

Whole lotta liberals in New York. Whole lotta those liberal New Yorkers lost someone in the towers. Whole lotta liberal New Yorkers who lost someone in the towers might want to break Karl's jaw today. Karl would be well advised to keep his sorry ass out of New York from now on.

I'm copying my questions from the other Rove thread:

Do you think that Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, and Rudy Guiliani--all liberals--offered "therapy and understanding for our attackers"?

Do you think that most liberal Americans did so after the attacks? Such as jrb_actor?

Do you think that given that the attacks only happened in blue states, that the blue state liberals of those 3 states (I incl DC as a state for this topic) offered "therapy and understanding for our attackers"?

I'm just curious.
