Firefox updates

I'm trying to get the 'critical updates' and the dowload window says that it is 'downloading and installing', but the progress bar shows nothing. Yesterday I tried to do this too and it went on like that for a half hour before I gave up and assumed it wasn't working. Does anyone know what's going on? I asked someone else if they knew anything about it and she said that the updates are only supposed to take a couple of minutes.
