Flexplay - Noel (Susan Sarandon, Penelope Cruz, Robin Williams)

Ok this movie which I saw at the Village 7 a few weeks ago premiered on TNT tonight and aparently it is the first movie of a new program called flexplay which a DVD that you can buy for $5 that will expire after 48 hours being opened. How that works I don't know but does this sound weird people? It sounds like another company trying to be Netflix only different. How long will this last?
