For the Canadians

Posted: 8/29/04 at 1:29pmRecently on a trip to Quebec City, we were walking back to our hotel on either a Monday or Tuesday (the week before last week). On the way, we passed a place called "Le Cabaret du Capitole." They had people dancing in metallic fairy costumes while someone was playing the drums. There was also a red carpet rolled out. People were arriving dressed up, and began to line the red carpet. It looked like the Canadian TV (CTA???) was celebrating "50 Years of" Something (I think Magic). There was also a lady asking for autographs and took a picture with a couple of the people. I'm wondering if these people were famous, in the Canadian world. One guy had long blond hair and those thick black glasses. Didn't recognize any of them. Anyone know anything about this?

Long blond hair & thick glasses/ Doesn't ring any bells.( Garth?)
The thing is Quebec has its own little entertainment community, its own film production, singers, tv stars (Ask me about Le Peti Vie!!!) They could be stars in Quebec.
The tv was CTV (private) or CBC (public).

yeah I have NO idea.
It's true, the French entertainment industry seems to exist separately from the rest of Canada. Big surprise.
