I have a IBM laptop at work and its easy there with Alt+130. The same codes don't work on the Dell laptop I have here at home. I don't know why. I tried the codes given on the character map and they don't work either. So, I copy and paste the é.

I had to hunt through Dell's online help. I never bothered to even explore this before this evening.

Boredom perhaps?

I just had to try it out. Alt 130 worked on my Dell desktop. Now if I can only remember it. I had a chart once but......well, it's gone. Or lost. Or misplaced.

I totally enjoyed Wonderful Town too, although it's been months since I last saw it. Glad to see there's a True Fan out there!

On my Dell, the code is Alt + 0233, but Alt + 130 works, too. It works every time. The Character Map tells the code for each character when you click on it.

I have an spanish keyboard, and with the windows set in spanish!
if need any special letter, let me know...

here are the spanish/catalonian letters which are not used in english:
á à é è í ì ó ò ú ù ñ ç ü
