I watched The Apple because it was in the book 101 Films Every Gay Man Must See. I laughed sooooooo hard! Especially since it was suppose to be in the Future 1994!!!!
I might have missed it on here but what about Valley of the Dolls!
bschneid76 -- Well, I LOVE "Valley of the Dolls," I just wouldn't really call it "obscure." I had the pleasure of working on the DVD release for "Valley," and I got my good friend Alonso Duralde involved to do commentary and some on-camera stuff, because of that very book you mention (101 Films Every Gay Man Must See, which he wrote). In fact, it was Alonso who turned me on to "The Apple" in the first place when there was a screening a couple of years ago here in LA.
By the way, I tried to reply to your PM, but you have me blocked, or EVERYONE blocked or something...
...but do I love Myra Breckenridge too! It's NOT as gloriously, hallucinogenically repulsive as "Sextette"... but it's pretty darn close.
Nothing on this PLANET can beat an 80-year-old Mae West and a 20-something Timothy Dalton romatically singing the Captain & Tennille's "Love Will Keep Us Together."
Nothing.
