I performed in the Wisconsin State Forensics yesterday. I am proud to say that I took home a gold medal with a perfect score of 25!! Yay!!! Does anyone else here perform in forensics? (I guess some would call it oratory speaking)

Aie! A forensicator! *glomps*

Heehee. I did it two years straight in two different schools...and then my alma mater shut it down my senior year. GRR. Was not happy.

What's your catergory? I did prose/poetry.

I did poetry. I wrote two of my own selections, and used "Is it crazy to want to Unravel" by Wendy Rose. I was really comfortable w/ the piece so it was pretty cool. The best part was that my favoritest person was able to come watch me perform--and part of my piece was about her. Yay! Who would have thought that I would get a letter in High School--not me! Lol

It's my senior year now, so I'm done with it, but I did serious drama for all four years of high school. I already miss it like crazy, especially because I went farther my junior year then my senior year. :P Never got to do states or nationals.

Winkour- wha...? You wrote your own poetry piece? *shrugs* Maybe your rules are different.

Why? What are your rules? Original pieces are allowed for us.

I thought this was going to be a thread about DNA evidence and the like.

I did it. :) I miss it! I loved doing Forensics. Yessss.

"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."

Yeah, the PA ruling is that in Humor, Drama, Prose/Poetry it has to be a published piece, with proof. So, unless you managed this, original pieces are a no-go.

I normally attribute the seeds of my Rent obsession to Forensics. I love it.

Rath- You know, my first team's t-shirt says "A LOT less messier than dead bodies..."

That's funny--about the shirt. I'm glad we get the choice to write our pieces, it makes it more interesting at times. Unless someone really can't write to save their life, but that's a whole nother topic completely. Yeah, a lot of people think forensics is all CSI and stuff like that...I was confused at first also. lol

I used to rock out at 4N6 in high school. Went to states and nationals. I used to do a duo piece from True West and Oral Interp pieces by John Lennon. Some of my best high school memories happened at 4N6 meets. Good memories, thanks for bringing them back W_Fan

Man, I miss the 6 am car rides, curled up under my coat and blasting my CD player.

Those were the days.
