They taste like lime punch. And they are dangerous. Cachaca is 80 proof and really hits you like a ton of bricks. Very refreshing and perfect for the coming months!

I fell in love with them when a hunky Brazilian bartended started mixing them for me a few years ago - I was very glad I had learned portuguese in college - he gave me all sorts of attention and lots of caipirinhas! Just thinking about watching him muddle those limes makes me thirsty again.

Try since 1996, when I was introduced to them (inexplicably) in Florence, Italy. Yum yum yum.

Haven't had one in years though. Caiphiroscas are also yummy (same but with vodka also added).

When they are made with Sugar in the Raw they are phoenom.

Actually. I was at a birthday party over the weekend and it was introduced to me. I'm not a big drinker, so I'm not on the cutting edge of what's "trendy". I also don't like to be trendy lol. But the drink is refreshing and not overpowering in the alchol-taste department, which of course makes it lethal...
