Fox Brags: We've made it harder to blame Republicans

Is this something a Fair and Balanced News station would say? This is not a commentator or a Fox Editorial by the way- this is a NEWS ANCHOR explaining the position of her NEWS STATION.

I thought it was very interesting what Brit Hume said yesterday on our show, and that was that, you know, seventeen years ago, the last time we went through this, you didn't have a lot of things. You know, you didn't have -- you know, Fox News Channel was just beginning. People are very -- it's a different world in terms of what people understand about what's going on. In those days, it was much easier to pin the problems in this on the Republicans. I think that people are very tuned in to this issue and we know that. Because we know they're watching, we know they care about it, and I think that, I'm not sure that they're going to punish the Republicans to the extent that they did last time around. I think they get it, and I think that they're very divided on it.

what she was saying, is that before FOX, the media was almost all liberal/democratic in voice. Fox, has taken a different view of things, gving a diff perspective.

Anyway, MediaMatters is so far left of MSNBC even they are off the page.

I'm not sure that they're going to punish the Republicans to the extent that they did last time around. I think they get it, and I think that they're very divided on it.

So basically, she just doesn't watch or read the news.

Lets not forget, Fox News was CERTAIN Mitt Romney was ahead in all the polls leading up to the election of 2012. They more or less laughed off Nate Silver. Dick Morris and Carl Rove were on Fox the night of the election bragging how their numbers don't lie and that Mitt was gonna win in a landslide.

Fox News and it's brain dead audience live in their own world of make believe and pretend facts. They rewrite history to fit their agenda.

Their objective is not to enlighten or inform; It is to advance the cause of conservatism in the USA and to elect Republicans to office. They make cash contributions to the RNC and heavily promote Republican politicians. During the last election cycle, it was estimated that Fox gave the equivalent of $40 million of airtime to five favored Republican candidates in the run up to the 2012 primaries.

There is no equivalency here: There has never been a media source bragging that they helped Democratic causes or candidates. Indeed, whenever a liberal media figure was foolish enough to express admiration for a candidate, they are criticized heavily.

You explained nothing- you said why you thought it's OK for Fox to serve as a propaganda arm of the RNC then added "Anyway, MediaMatters is so far left of MSNBC even they are off the page."

I asked you if that made their report inaccurate? Did they doctor the audio of her remarks somehow? Was there a context that made it OK for her to brag about the effectiveness of her network in making one party look good?

You followed that "explanation" that Fox HAS to spin the news to counter the media bias by saying "Anyway, MediaMatters is so far left of MSNBC even they are off the page." I take that to mean you doubt their veracity, that perhaps they are advancing a political agenda through inaccurate reporting or selective editing- was I wrong?

Sue things are true or false. If Fox reports water is wet, you might want to go check the faucet to verify it but their report doesn't make water dry. There have been occasions that Fox has reported accurately.

I posted an accurate report (with the audio to hear the comments yourself) and you posted that Media Matters was liberal. Now either you did that to imply they have a political agenda and impugn the report or that is the mother of all non-sequiturs.

Yez a portion of the audio. Its like if you just posted the part of the Rodney King video before tye cops beat him. That would NOT be tye whole story and it would be out of context and wrong.

I assume Sue means Media Matters took this poor girl's bragging out of context. If we heard the WHOLE show we'd know that she meant NOTHING of the kind when she bragged that Fox was doing a good job carrying the water for ONE of the two political parties. I guess? I think "out of context" is standard conserva-speak for "Yes, but I don't want to acknowledge that."
