re: Frasier Falls

And you find that funny?
PEACE.

re: Frasier Falls

I'm very sorry I clicked on the link and watched. I thought it was going to be some zany pratfall. But I found myself feeling a little sick to my stomach.

re: Frasier Falls

Yeah I saw it on Access Hollywood 2 nights in a row, and it looked kind of painful. I usually enjoy when celebrities fall, but his fall actually looked painful with all those sharp edges.

re: Frasier Falls

Someone slipping on a runway and getting up laughing is funny. Someone falling and really hurting themselves is not. He was obviously in pain. We had this thread a while ago with the woman falling off the platform while she was stomping grapes.
PEACE.

And as a few of the oldsters can attest to here, older bodies seem to injure more easily and heal far slower than those in their younger years.

re: Frasier Falls

I'm sure if it were George Bush, Rush Limbaugh, etc., the laughter on this board would be loud, hearty, and long-lasting (as he doesn't seem to be seriously injured). Just a bit of perspective.

re: Frasier Falls

Funny you should mention that perspective Rath, I was thinking about just that issue when I was dictating my post to my intern, FindingNamo2.

Matter of fact, the Fox News-appearing, Bush shilling Kelsey Grammer is a molecule that spins happily around the Bush nucleus. As I told my intern to tell you before, I felt sick to my stomach, even though I politically disagree with him intensely.

But it's good we can always count on your running to the other side of the room and offering the opposite perspective.

re: Frasier Falls

Now, Namo, I wouldn't go so far as to say "always." Just when I'm feeling overwhelmed by a board that leans so far to one side that there is barely, if ever, any room for true discussion.

re: Frasier Falls

Yeah, but don't you think you could maybe just do some basic fact checking? I mean, look at the assumptions you made: Grammer = TV Star, must = left leaning so all those "too far on one side" people on the board don't think him falling off the stage and obviously being injured and disoriented is funny.

Both of the theses in your post proved incorrect. But it's okay because of how -- what? -- unfairly the board leans to one side politically? That doesn't make any sense. You're wrong but you're providing "fairness and balance" in your wrongness? There MUST be a job somewhere at Fox News for you.

You know, not for nothing. I'm sure you're a nice human being and all, I mean, I bet you're not mean to animals or anything. And yeah, you're clearly in thrall to enormous pharmaceutical corporations but we gotta put bread on the table somehow, right? But as for your running to the opposite side so often, it was rather amusing to read how the anti-smoking The Truth ads pissed you off so much it made you want to start smoking. Wow! What a rebel! How oppositional! Maybe you can get some chemo discounts at the office?

re: Frasier Falls

Speaking of research, buddy, you might have noticed that I don't work for a pharmaceutical corporation anymore. But yes, people do need to pay the bills, and how noble of you to decide what strangers can and cannot do to take care of their own lives.

And it was not those Truth ads to which I was referring, but rather I was making a humorous reference to wildcat's humorous post, which is why I put his hame in front of that statement, and started a second paragraph when I moved on to the subject of the Truth ads.

But, at least all is right on the boarda again - Namo can pick on Rath. Hooray!

re: Frasier Falls

Seriously. Rath. I got sick to my stomach watching that clip. Other people thought it wasn't funny.

What about that prompted you to write that if it was a conservative person falling the laughter would be far and wide?

Seriously. It was a conservative person. I felt sick to my stomach. How does that square with your worldview that without the delicate check and balance you provide by making a point that would seem not to have anything to do with the issue at hand this "whole board" will continue to "overwhelm" you?

Doesn't the fact of Grammer's conservatism disprove your point?

re: Frasier Falls

I don't know. He doesn't seem to be disliked on this board, nor have I ever seen him called out here because of his views/statements. From what I've seen, he's only admired as an actor. I could be wrong.

Yes, it was a sickening sight, and it sickens me more that it was shown on TV numerous times. I don't quite understand why.

re: Frasier Falls

Then it might be worth exploring why, rather than agree with the negative responses (since you had one too), you felt compelled to take the time to castigate people for "probably" laughing if it was somebody esle?

It just makes absolutely no sense to me.

re: Frasier Falls

Christ, Namo, I said maybe I was wrong, didn't I? I really don't need you telling me what I need and don't need to "explore." Perhaps you should "explore" your constant need to call people out personally on message boards.

re: Frasier Falls

So, what? I was supposed to generalize like you did and then it would be okay?

Maybe I should have written about "people" who are fundamentally conservative but pretend they are in some mythical middle making generalized statements about how the board tilts politically and makes them feel overwhelmed?

Christ, you did say "maybe you were wrong."

But you were, in fact, wrong.

I mean, "people who think the people on the opposite end of the political spectrum from them have double standards" were wrong.

WOW!

I said it be4 and I will say it again:

"This board got more drama than TNT"

The name of the board should be christened:

BWW: We Know Drama

or better yet:

BWW: We Are Drama

re: Frasier Falls

"Fundamentally conservative"? Now you're just trying to stir things up, as usual. Shut up, Namo. For once, just shut up. You have no idea what you're talking about, nor to whom.

re: Frasier Falls

A person reads enough posts from a person and a person with any level of insight at all is able to glean from where a person is posting, politically. If a person didn't believe in that, a person's self would never have made generalizations about things found funny by people of different political persuasions.

Speaking generally, and certainly not about any poster in particular, if a person regularly claims they are in the middle, they're usually tilted to the conservative end of the spectrum. Which is weird, because I thought that only the L word was poison.

re: Frasier Falls

I think people are being really dramatic.

You don't even see him fall. You see him go down, then you see him standing there. It's not funny at all, but it's not SICKENING or anything. Geez. Why that video even exists is beyond me.

re: Frasier Falls

Look. All I did was describe the visceral response I had when I saw it. *I* got sick to my stomach. I'm not saying anybody else would. There was no context, no way to know from the thread or the link title that it wasn't going to be a well-executed pratfall by the character Frasier.

On the other hand, apparently I would have laughed if it was somebody I disagreed with politically. Which it was. And I didn't.

re: Frasier Falls

I think that those who expressed opinions of sympathy towards the mishap of falling down and hurting oneself did it on the basis of the individual in question being part of the human race and not of any political leaning, but I may just be hopelessly naive... silly me.
