Friends of Matthew Shepard

Hey Friends,

Some of you may have seen the film or play, THE
LARAMIE PROJECT. It essentially tells the story
of Matthew Shepard, one of the most prominent
hate crime victims of the past few decades. In THE
LARAMIE PROJECT, there is a scene where
people are marching in tribute to Matthew at the
end of a homecoming parade. During the
monologue describing the event, the man (who due
to a broken leg couldn't also march) describes
seeing about a hundred people tagged onto the
parade marching behind the banner. In his
apartment he had one window facing the beginning
of the parade and one which faced where the
parade wound up. By the time the parade got to
the second window, there were five times as many
marchers. Five hundred people were marching
behind the same banner.

Last year in the New York Pride March, on a last
minute whim, we were able to put together about
10-15 people to march behind the banner. This
year, we would like to have 100+.

The march takes place on Sunday, June 26th at
Noon. We would meet at about 11AM. With a
meeting place mapped out as we get closer to the
event. Please pass this email along to anyone you
know that might like to march. Gay, Straight,
Lesbian, Bisexual, Transexual, Omnisexual...whoever you are...the Matthew Shepard Foundation exists to spread a message of hope. A hope that one day we will all embrace one
another's differences and live peacefully with one
another.

Please email me here at FriendsofMatthew@aol.com
with your email address and phone number.

Thanks so much. I hope to see you all on June
26th!

Love, Jamie

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson

Are you stupid? You're whining about *that* on this thread?

Considering I'm in California...

I'd be there if I could.

And we've already established the fact I'm stupid. I'm no longer going to defend myself.

Please, don't give me that crap. It's not a f*cking excuse. It's just pathetic. That's what you decided was top comment priority on this topic. Classy.

Wow, bad mood Emcee?

Maybe C_O was just trying to bump it again, as I'm doing right now!

Please don't give C_O the benefit of the doubt, shameless. He doesn't deserve it. And this thread really deserved a lot better.
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

Captain_ Obvious, if they raped you and beat you and tied you to a fence to bleed to death, I would march underneath a banner memorializing you.

Please consider deleting your demeaning comments from this thread.
