I am "All Shook Up" (no pun intended)
I just got back from the scariest expereince at the supermarket. I had just finished paying and the cashier was giving me my recipt and I was putting the groceries into bags when I hear...
"Gun Gun! Run Run!"
There wasn't a particularly 'good' place to run to since the guy with the gun was at the door. I couldn't even think and next think I saw was the manager (who is very muscular) trying to hold down the guy as he is screaming "Call police now!!" Also, there was a little girl crying.
I don't know where the police were but they showed up in a matter of seconds, thankfully, by this time, the guy was being pushed and locked into a room. After the cops came, I barged out of the store put my food in the car and drove back home.
Apparentley, the guy was trying to steal from the store but had some kind of warrent against him too. Also, as he was trying to run out, he ran over a little girl that was getting a balloon that the supermarket staff give away.
That was the girl who was crying.
I hope everyone that was in the supermarket is ok but since the cops were there by the time I left, I am sure things were fine. Thankfully, the girl wasn't injured, just scared.
Ok- thank you for listening and now I may go take 2 valium and try to relax.
*thanks TheatreDiva- I did mean steal* Hey! I had a frightening expereince, give me a break!
You mean 'steal' something?
Glad you made it out alive!

Me too. That is frightening.
Well, I've had an experience a bit less frightening than that when I was in the sixth grade. The office called every classroom saying that there was a guy that bothered a third grader (I think a third grader), and he actually had a gun. He still was wandering around after the incident. It wasn't until an hour later that the campus was safe and the police came.
Ever since the incident, the police would come every one to two weeks to check on the school.

my story isnt that frightening... it's more pathetic. Last year at my school, during standardized testing, a girl went to the bathroom and wrote "I have a bom" (yes, a highschooler who cannot spell bomb right) we were all told to leave the building while the police investigated. Nobody was scared because we were all laughing too hard at the fact that the girl couldn't even spell bomb correctly.

Wow. A high schooler that can't spell "bomb" correctly is certainly...smart.
I have a pathetic one also. When I was in the bathroom in 6th grade two year ago, I did my business, turned around and saw, reflected from the wall onto the mirror, was, "Murder" in red marker. (The Shining, anyone?) Of course, I reported it. I don't recall what happened to the kid who commited the crime. I'll have to ask.
And yes, your experiences ARE scary.
First off, I am glad that you are okay SweetQ, what a scary ordeal.
I have had two pretty scary events happen to me. When I was a baby up until I was four years old, my family lived in California and we lived in a (at the time) fairly small city. Everything was pretty close together, my sister's school was katty-corner from our house, and 7-11 was right across from our house. One day a guy who was wanted for assaulting his g/f and her children decided to rob the 7-11 and then when he was done, he ran to hide in our backyard. My mom, sister, and I were in the backyard at the time in the pool and this guy runs at us with a gun and pretty much took us hostage, I was only two at the time so I didn't know what was happening and all I remember is the fear I heard in my mom's voice. I'm glad I don't remember that.
Another frightening event happened right after Columbine when all the copycat threats were going on and I somehow made it on to the list of someone who was going to come to school and kill as many people as he could. It's scary to know that if he has succeded that I may be dead.

Wow Shiksa, I'm glad YOU are ok. I swear, people these days...it's CRAZY!
Not only are they screwing over their own life but they are screwing over other's people lives too whether it be, physically, emotionally or other...
Wouldn't it be much easier to find help or check yourself into a psych hospital? I mean, after all, the psych hospital does feed you and you won't have to go stealing from a supermarket and frighten the whole place!!
I once heard that people who steal are trying to get away with it more than they actually NEED the food. The time I heard that story was when someone was trying to rob a store but didn't have a gun. Perhaps, what happened today was a different story, especially since he already had a warrant against him.

I'm glad you're ok
Sweet,
Don't sware. It's 'swear'...
God, I feel like Dolly Pop....
I am glad that everyone is ok. I too had a run in with a nutjob when I was younger. A friend and I were playing in her grandmother's front yard and had climbed up this big tree. Right after we got situated in the tree this guy in an orange jump suit ran through the yard right under us, stopped looked up at us, started to reach for a branch below us and then cops came from out of no where and he ran off away from them. I never found out if they caught the guy, but as soon as the guy and the cops were gone we climbed down and ran in the house to hide.
