So my theatre company has been given the opportunity to perform at a very nice black box theater in Boston where several professional companies perform (we are a college student group, so this is very exciting for us). It is going to cost quite a bit of money, however. Does anybody have any ideas of some good fundraisers we could try? The town does not seem too supportive of the Arts (if we were to perform at a local high school in the area it would be slightly more expensive than the professional theater in Boston....and the town refuses to allow any discount or fee waiver to any group in the town). Any ideas would be more than appreciated. Thanks!

What about performing in a church? Or going the basic route of performing services instead, i.e., carwashes, bake sales, etc.

You might want to get a program from one of that theatre's previous productions and contact some of the donors listed there and tell them your situation.
