Hi, guys!

I just wanted to let you all know that the award-winning and critically-acclaimed West Coast Ensemble (of which I am a member - I played Yvonne in our Ovation-nominated production of Sunday in the Park with George and Hippolyte in our extremely well-received prodcution of Moliere's The Bungler) has finally found a new space, which has tons of potential (I saw it last night), and is going to be just fabulous when the build-out is complete. To that end, it's fund-raising time!! =)

We're selling $5 raffle tickets (great prizes), and we're also going to be doing a wonderful production of Kander and Ebb's And The World Goes 'Round (for which I'm auditioning this evening - wish me luck), that will be done in the round, in a cabaret atmosphere, for only $30 a ticket! (That includes the performance, snacks, and a complimentary raffle ticket, too!) The production will run February 24, 25, 26 and March 3, 4, 5 and is being directed by Richard Israel and MD'd by Johanna Kent, the team that helmed our award-winning production of Floyd Collins.

Please PM me if you're interested in buying any raffle tickets or tickets to the fundraiser. Thanks so much!

*bump* for a good cause!

Also, thanks so much to the people who've already responded and bought raffle tickets, and everyone please feel free to reply on this thread to keep it visible. =)

GRAND PRIZE - a minimum of $500 cash. However, the more money we raise, the larger the grand prize will be. (Another $100 for every $1,000 we raise over the initial $5,000.) So, if we raise $25,000 - which is our goal - the Grand Prize will be $2,500 CASH!

2nd PRIZE - $250 Gift Certificate to boutique-to-the-stars, Tracey Ross

3rd PRIZE - $150 Gift Certificate to the very chic Satine on 3rd Street, LA. http://www.satineboutique.com

4th PRIZE - $100 to the lovely Elisa B in Pasadena

Other Prizes include FOUR Season Subscriptions (for the 2006/2007 season - which are actually worth more than $100 each), plus there are many more prizes to come. (Past prizes have included jewelry, day-spa treatments, etc.) The drawing will be held on April 3rd. =)

OK, so I auditioned last night, and I felt I was mediocre. Not bad, just "eh." Of course, I'm ridiculously hard on myself, but still... It was not one of my best auditions. So we'll see if I get to perform in the fundraiser after all.

Reagrdless, however, people should still come! And buy raffle tickets! West Coast Esemble has been operating continuously since 1981...we don't want to get stymied just 'cause of fundraising issues, right? =)

Thanks again! (And I'll keep you posted on the casting...)

The prize is supporting local theater. Apparently, according to some on this Board, we in SoCal need all the help we can get!

So get you checkbooks out and buy some raffle tickets!

re: Fundraising for West Coast Ensemble...

Thanks, YWIW! =)

So, yeah...come on, people! It's only $5 a ticket, and we really do need the funds. We're building out a whole new space, from scratch! The $25,000 we're hoping to raise won't even get us all the way there, but it'll help!

Please think about buying a raffle ticket or two, OK? It's a tax write-off and everything. re: Fundraising for West Coast Ensemble...

Thanks again!

P.S. The photos are from the WCE productions of Sunday in the Park with George (Ovation nom), The Bungler, and Floyd Collins (Ovation nom).

(hmmmmmm...can't seem to get the Floyd Collins pic to work...sorry!) Updated On: 1/11/06 at 01:46 PM
