PETA has now proven they are totally off the wall and care nothing about people and all about animals.
A nutcase named Jimmy Failla rented a cab from a medallion cab owner.He picks up passengers and than he shoves a live python in their face to get their reactions on a video for you tube ala Snakes On A Plane. He could have scared people with heart problems or those who have a phobia to snakes.
PETA'S response was that he should use a rubber python next time. Screw the people as long as we do not traumatize poor little Monty the python.
There is no hope for these people.

It's not that PETA has lost its mind. It's that YOU HAVE A COMPREHENSION PROBLEM. After Googling two details that you posted I was led to NBC.com's story about it headlined:

A comedian who once drove a New York City taxi is under fire for a video he posted online this week in which passengers were surprised by an albino Burmese python slithering in the back seat of a cab.
The city Taxi and Limousine Commission and PETA both blasted comic Jimmy Failla for the video, called “Snakes on a Cab,” reports Gothamist. The video, released to promote Failla's new book, shows customers shrieking, running away and cursing when they see the 14-foot serpent in Failla's taxi.
