I mean, I guess it's nice the actor playing Finn doesn't playing him as imbecile; but the part is written as an imbecile.
I also hate the wife, Iflit.
The two pregnancy storylines are just so unnecessary.
Does anybody know if that was Rondi Reed playing the female anchor on the newscast? It looked a lot like her, but the info isn't on imdb.
The football "Single Ladies" scene will go down as one of my favorite tv moments.
Ps. I also hate the wife...WITH A PASSION!!!!

I see GLEE has just received a full season order for episodes. Looks like all that PR has paid off.

So is Matt Morrison's character clueless? The wife is supposed to be about 3 months pregnant. Doesn't he realize that she's still having her period?
I could easily hide that from my husband if I wanted to.
From the sounds of that marriage, they only have sex once a month or so if he's lucky, so it'd be easy to hide.
I've known a couple women that had their period throughout their whole pregnancy.

Eegads! That was one of the best things about being pregnant...not having a period!

I totally cried when Kurt came out to his Dad. Sitting on my bed. At 2 am.

I think that Kurt coming out to his father in Season 1 Episode 3 means the show is moving a bit too fast. Where is that relationship going next season?
Just watched it--and cried.
The Kurt/gay storyline is carrying the show at this point: It's pitch-perfect, avoids cliche and is impeccably played.
And the musical numbers are always well done--even when Lea Michele is singing her inner monologue or the "audition" scenes have sophisticated lighting effects.
So it's just the other storylines--which are supposed to be outlandish--where the show is struggling to find its comic vision. The Strangers With Candy approach to the school stories doesn't really gel with the soap opera elements.
But if they can bring the relationship dramas up to the level of the musical numbers and the coming-out story, it could be a great, great show.

THIS. All of it. haha
I loooove the show and am getting so into it, but it's definitely the case that the strong parts are REALLY super strong and the weak parts are pretty darn weak.
The music numbers, Kurt's storyline, and some of the general writing (one liners, certain comedic moments, etc) are basically what's making the show amazing right now. But the whole double pregnancy thing is just so.. unnecessary. I'm FINE with things not always being totally believable, but they also have to be engaging. And that storyline is one I'm consistently bored with. And it seems like someone is always leaving glee and then returning, leaving and then returning. There's always the same drama with that. So they just need to work out those story lines.
It certainly isn't making the show unenjoyable- I'm getting totally obsessed with it! And the really fantastic parts are more common than the weaker parts anyway. But if they COULD bring those other story lines up to the same level as the brilliantly written stuff, it would be so perfect!
Ugly Betty found the right balance between crazy comic and real emotion. I'm confident that writers and producers and directors of Glee will find something as unique.
I have loved every second of glee I have seen. I mean I really just sit back and relax, so I don't really notice that many mistakes, because I'm not analysing it. It's just fun.
Ok, I didn't cry at Kurt coming out. I think it's just because I knew it was coming because of a video I saw saying he did. I probably would have cried if the dad didn't take it that well. None the less, a beautiful scene.

^See, surprisingly enough I actually kind of found it MORE emotional that his dad took it so well! Probably just because I was sooo expecting the opposite, that it was so emotional in a good way when he actually surprised me. The cynical part of me was thinking it proobably wouldn't ordinarily go down like that, but at the same time.. I really like to believe that could happen- that people can surprise you if you let them. So yeah, I found it refreshing and so beautifully done :)
I cried right along with Finn and when Kurt came out to his dad. I love this show! I don't care that it's over the top or moving too fast...love it.

I've watched the first four over the internet now except I have to finish the acafella one. My guess is watching over the internet has a lot fewer commercials, yes?
I think the episode with Kurt coming out and Single Ladies was the best one so far and I enjoyed it. I like the singing.
The plots are like Saturday Night Live .
I like the wife. Anyone who has a Christmas Closet is okay in my book. I never heard of such a thing but it sounds like a great idea and I wouldn't blame her for telling people to keep their noses out of it, especially a husband who should know better than to go in it. Not her fault that they write her such a junk role.
Stop picking on that nice wife with the Christmas Closet. I like her better than the germicidal cleaniac.
Although I did find it odd that she ended up in the cheerleader's car to give her baby-vitamins.
Why so odd? She's psycho, and wants that baby since she isn't preggers. She needs to find a baby and find it fast.

Oh please...you'd have to be a total moron not to know your wife isn't really pregnant. What is she going to do when he wants to touch her belly to feel the baby move or kick? Every new Dad wants to feel that. I used to love to watch a little foot or hand print on the belly. So exciting! How is she going to keep up this charade? I really thought she was going to pretend to have a miscarriage. Not sure where they are going with the story line with the girl being pregnant now. Interesting to see how they are going to pull this off. I know she is psycho, but all psychos are caught in the end.
It isn't the end yet.

I liked Mr. Morrison in the role of janitor. I didn't like all the apologizing about him working that job.
What people don't seem to realize is the supers at schools is generally a high-paying union job in which they make a lot more than the teachers. They have to be trained to take care of the boilers and fixing all sorts of things and making over $100,000 a year for the top ones is common.
It would have been cute if he switched to that job and kept leading the Glee Club and solving all the student's and school's problems from the position of super. It was completely unbelievable that a public school would be able to hire him at half wages given the unions.
I think it is more fun to see Mr. Morrison in a blue collar job than as a prissy button-down teacher when he faces the trials of daily life. This is not "To Sir With Love." It's a comedy. And having him looked down upon when he actually makes more money would be funny.
Boobs, I agree she's not going to be able to hide it forever, but it's still early days. She's not even showing yet so there would be no baby kicks yet. If I remember correctly that doesn't start until around 5 months.
I don't get why the pricipal allowed himself to be blackmailed by Sue over that video? What was so bad about it? It was just a commercial for an airline right? Or did my slow butt miss something?
