Before my time, but my mother LOVED "My Little Margie."
God rest and bless her.

I used to love the funny sound she made in her throat when one of her crazy schemes was discovered.
"May flights of angels sing her to her rest"

Posted: 6/28/09 at 8:56pmYeah, it was a kind of gurgling tongue roll noise! Loved that show as a young kid. When I was kept home ill from school it would run right after Ding Dong School and was usually followed by A The Thin Man movie.

Ding Dong School...with the original Miss Frances, ah...those were the days.
I preferred Gale Storm in the Gale Storm Show aka Oh, Susanna! You couldn't go wrong with a co-star like Zasu Pitts.
For the youngsters...this is Gale Storm and Zasu.

That's the Miss Frances I remember! The days I stayed home she made snowmen out of laundry soap and water and a rubber ball from the sap of a milkweed plant and some vinegar.
There was one Little Margie on one of those days that scared the crap out of me. She had a fat suit that she had filled with Helium (for some reason and was in danger of floating off the balcony of their apartment. Didn't matter that the wires suspending her were quite visible.
That's my Little Margie!

Why isn't the death of Gale Storm receiving the same coverage as that of Michael Jackson? She was insanely popular with our generation.
I, too, remember Miss Frances and "Ding Dong School". She had a very definite manner of pronouncing certain words, didn't she?

Posted: 6/29/09 at 6:20amOh, the wonderful shows that kept us going through those childhood illnesses! And who was the ice goddess blond running after Margie's dad?
