Are Luke and Laura still shaking their groove things in Port Charles?

re: General Hospital

Well sorta - long story (of course) - but Anna Lee (Lila) died a couple of months ago, and yesterday Lila died on the show - it was the best writing in years, and incredible acting - just wanted to know if anyone else saw it and was as touched as I.

re: General Hospital

I read that Anna Lee died recently...and I did go down memory lane. I haven't seen GH in years. I remember catching shows back in the days of Robert Scorpio and Anna Devane, Monica and Alan, Lila and Edward, Rick Springfield as Dr. Noah Drake, and a young John Stamos played Blackie.

In times of deep reflection and contemplation, I often wonder how Rick and Leslie Webber have gotten along with their lives. Aaah, misty water coloured memories...

re: General Hospital

Laura killed Rick a couple of years ago, while having a flashback, and is now catatonic in a sanitarium. Leslie is back!! Although we don't see her nearly enough...5 - 10 minutes worth every few months or so...

I have missed some things since the 80s! - Is Monica still spatting with Alan...or have they been killed off, too?
#11

re: General Hospital

Monica and Alan are together, and pretty happy - they don't give the old guard much airtime anymore, sadly. We don't see them much. They both did an amazing job yesterday, though. You might be pleased to know that Tracy is back and fabulous as always!

re: General Hospital

I was a long time GH fan, but stopped watching back in January. I catch it periodically on my days off, etc. How did they have Lila die? I hope in her sleep or something like that. I just adored her. Was the whole show about it or did it happen towards the end? All these questions. Guess I should just start watching it again. I'm home today, so I'll definitely watch.

They had her die in her sleep. And yeah, the whole show was about it. But I think there will be two more days of it too.

re: General Hospital

Thanks. This will probably sound morbid, but who "found" her? I'm assuming Edward? How did they handle that part? Just have Edward or whoever discovered it, come into the library or wherever and just break the news to everyone? Sorry to bug you, but no one I know watches it.

re: General Hospital

Edward came downstairs in his robe, and Justus was waiting for him, and said, Edward, why aren't you dressed, you're late, you're the one who insisted on this meeting, and Edward just stared into space and said, "My wife is dead." It was so sad.

And got sadder as other people found out. Alan just started sobbing, and then so did I, when Monica told him at the hospital...Tracy was incredible...the acting was unbelievable. If you go to www.televisionwithoutpity.com, click on Forums, Soap Operas, then General Hospital, go back to page 1197 or so, and people are talking about it and it gives you a lot of info.

re: General Hospital

I watched the show yesterday and found it very moving. Especially knowing the people were genuinely talking from the heart - even while playing fictional characters. I read recently where when Ana would arrive on the set in the last year or so, the whole set would come to a halt and give her a standing ovation. They all really admired her so much and respected her determination to continue to work. I started watching the show in the late 70's when I was little, and I only wish they'd quit recasting Edward Quartermaine with younger and younger men. The original Edward looked like he had one foot in the grave, and now it was a little hard to buy into the emotion of Edward yesterday because 1)he's extremely new to the cast and I don't think I'd ever even seen him with "Lila" and 2)does he really even look like he'd be married to her? He's about 25 years younger than the original Edward. Whoah. I'm trying to make sense of soaps and hoping for a little bit of realism. That's where I'm going wrong here. Since when have they ever been believable re: General Hospital

Anna's memorial service coming up should be beautiful. A lot of GH alumni are returning to the show......

re: General Hospital

I agree about all the Edwards, but I really thought this one did an incredible job yesterday. I've been watching it since the 70's as well, so I feel your pain. I wish Leslie had a storyline, I wish Alan and Monica were larger characters, I wish Amber Tamblyn (although I do love her as Joan of Arcadia and she got an Emmy nod today, yay!!)and Jonathan Jackson had never left, and one of the greatest days ever was when Jane Elliot returned!! She was an Emmy waiting to happen yesterday.

Thanks so much to both of you. And thanks for the link. I knew there had to be something out there for me to read about it. I think I'll pop a tape in for today and tomorrow. I have a feeling these will be "keeper" episodes. Thanks, again.

My pleasure! And if you ever want to discuss it, pm me. I don't know anyone else who has watched it as long as we have. I only have one other friend who watches and she hasn't watched that long - doesn't understand why Leslie should work every day! re: General Hospital

You're right. His acting was incredible. I need to put what I know from past *Edwards* aside and get in the moment with him...

re: General Hospital

I'm just curious as to why they waited to play her death into the show so late. The actress who played Lila died some time ago. Shortly thereafter, the last Edward left the show. I am not a huge fan of the most recent Edward. He's just too tall! Lol. It was interesting to see how all of the characters reacted. For example, has Tracy ever been that emotional and CRIED in the entire history of the show. General Hospital is my favorite show!
