A must-read op-ed.
But before the inevitable onslaught by the Board Troll, can I ask everyone to respond to McGovern and each other and NOT the troll?
Exceprt from the beginning and end of the op-ed. The rest is at the link.

Why I Believe Bush Must Go
Nixon Was Bad. These Guys Are Worse.
By George McGovern
Sunday, January 6, 2008; B01
As we enter the eighth year of the Bush-Cheney administration, I have belatedly and painfully concluded that the only honorable course for me is to urge the impeachment of the president and the vice president.
After the 1972 presidential election, I stood clear of calls to impeach President Richard M. Nixon for his misconduct during the campaign. I thought that my joining the impeachment effort would be seen as an expression of personal vengeance toward the president who had defeated me.
Today I have made a different choice.

Wow. That's a long liberal cut and paste.
The deity already answered that stupidity, several hours ago.

Sex is bad.
War profiteering and lying are merely naughty.

Hey, at least that long liberal cut and paste was finally edited.
Also, can we make certain that Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, McGovern, Gore, and Kerry all make it up on the platform at the democrat national convention?
Can you believe all those losers are still living?

I made the Bush/Nixon comparison myself a while ago without really thinking about it. Now it chills me to the bone--to think that we've really sunk below even Nixon's level.

Actually Gore won. But let's not split hairs.
Not to mention - as we've disagreed with in the past - Gore has done quite a bit to bring attention to many environmental issues of importance.
Of course you'll blabber about something now pretending to know better.. g'head.

"if we didn't impeach him, who would be impeachable? Oh wait- Presidents who have sex."
Or maybe Presidents who bomb Iraq while having sex and then lie about the sex under oath and don't take responsibility for bombing Iraq.

Are you aware that adults don't ever type "BBBBBBBWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA"
You show your age, but more importantly your lack of maturity when you do so. Good luck with that.

Well, the administration has caused a culture of fear, no two ways about it. One fear comes from the war and economy, the other from the fact that they've gotten away with a lot of things, as if they're trying to reverse or dissolve the paradigm of our government.
Bush is a horrific president, but a lot of that is because he's not trying to be. He's a pirate in Armani.
