I've searched the FAQ and still can't figure out how to get a JPG into the "Optional Image?" It looks like you have to type in a link?
Help anyone?

You can type it or copy and paste it.
If you need to host your image somewhere: http://www.imageshack.us
I'm a little scared that this is so hard for people. It's pretty self-explanitory.

Yes, you need to host the image on a server like photobucket and post the link in that field.
Although, you don't really need to use that field to post an image, you can just type in the URL to an image in your message and it will show up in the post.

Or, you can take a screenshot (print screen button), paste it in the paint, cutout what you want, and then save it as a Jpeg.
Then load it into photobucket.
(Websites like IMDB.com don't have the right click option.)

eyeluvbrdwy, what you are suggesting is actually referred to as "hotlinking" and would essentially be stealing bandwith from the site where the picture is hosted.
It's much better etiquette to save the picture yourself on your own server like imageshack or photobucket.
In fact, on some sites it violates the terms of service to hotlink.

Could be. Those images may have been removed from their servers. Although it's possible they were hosted by the poster and they deleted them.
Some sites can even detect it and the image you are trying to link to will display as a "Stop stealing my bandwith sign" or something to that effect.

Patronus is right. Many, many sites now actually have that warning posted.
It's better to put the image on your hard drive and upload it to fan photos here OR use something like photobucket (which is what I do) and you can post the photobucket URL right in the body of the message, if you want.
