Getting tickets to a taping of Conan O'Brien????

We tried calling in for tickets however we're too late. We're told we can meet on some street to get in line for standby tickets for that day's taping.
Does anyone have any other advice on getting tickets? Does anyone have any ties with NBC and can possibly help me out? 
We want to attend a taping on either Oct 10, Oct 12, or Oct 13 (or do they do a double dose on Thurs?).
