Getty Images wants to help create a "new" image for Women

How many times have you seen some version of Diane Keaton's J.C. Wiatt from 'Baby Boom'--frazzled-looking woman in a "power suit" and briefcase, struggling with a screaming child--used to depict the image of the Working Woman?

That hapless, quasi-victim-y image perpetuates an understanding of women in the workplace as inherently hapless, conflicted and victim-y.

Getty--the stock photo company--is assembling "a library of images devoted to the powerful depiction of women, girls and the people who support them", in the hopes of changing the image that comes to our collective mind when we hear the phrase "working woman".

Very cool, say I.
