We are trying to branch out to other white wines. Any advice on good Gewurztraminers? They seem pricey!
I love it just because I used to have a voice teacher named Gaynor Trammer.
They sort of sound the same.
I don't drink much wine.
I find it way too sweet... the only white wine I like is/are Rieslings.
I like sweet - recommended. But DG will shoot me if I say any more.
Gewurztraminers are very very sweet, and often better suited as a desert wine. I enjoy them quite a bit.
I just laughed out loud when reading this subject...
I'm not used to reading German words here!
I am not a big fan of Gewurztraminer, as I often drink wine on its own, and generally find Gewurztraminer too sweet. If you like spicy food, however, Gewurztraminers, along with Rieslings and Viogniers, should pair very well.

Funny. I never considered a good Gewurtz to be sweet. Spicy, fruity, a bit bubbly sometimes, but not sweet.
The New York Fingerlakes wineries produce some fine Gewurtz that are modestly priced ($8-$15/bottle). Worth checking out, especially if they have a vintage (ideal growing conditions) year.

Thanks Kelz! I bought a Gustave Lorenzt (sp), we will try it on Friday. Tonight she is having a vouvray instead of C****nay.

We opened it tonight and I really enjoyed it. It was light, but not too sweet. Mrs. Brd thought it was a little flowery. Not the grapefruit taste of a Cab Sav.
