I was talking w/ one of my friends and we got onto an interesting subject. Have any of you ever seen a ghost? I have. But it wasn't like it was trying to scare me, it was just there. Spill the stories!!

I was at the Springer Opera House in Columbus, GA this weekend. It is the most haunted building in the southeast, supposedly. I could help but think that the portraits hanging on the wall were staring at me.

Last weekend I was doing production work for a music video at an old, abandoned mental institute. It was built in 1913, and it looks exactly like the old ones you see in horror movies (tiled floors, long, wide hallways, moss, big windows, heavy doors, a feeling of death, the whole bit). I heard stories from a few other crew members who had worked there previously on other movies and they all had the same story about a young girl who haunts the top (4th) floor and a family that haunts the cellar.

I used to be pretty skeptical when I heard about that kind of things, and I don't have much of an imagination, but I was mopping up faking blood by myself at midnight in the old infirmary, and I only had the moon and street lights to help me (no electricity in this old building) and I swear to god I saw a small white orb and it was sort of like a translucent shimmering thing hovering at the end of the hallway. I thought I was imagining things, but I squinted and started walking towards it and it stayed there. When I was about 15 feet away I blinked and it was gone. The entire building was really stuffy all day and night, but I walked past where I saw the orb, and into one of the old cells next to it and it was FREEZING cold. So I thought we had left a window open in there but nothing. So I walked out, and came back in about 30sec-1 minute later, and it was warm again.

The hospital was open when a lotta bad **** happened...experimental lobotomies, suicides, that sort of thing. And you could really feel it when you walk in there. Scary as well. I booked it outta there.

Edit:
I found some pics of the place. Brrr...

Oh yeah! I grew up in a haunte house. It was my grand pa! I never knew him he died a few years before I was born. But I always knew it was him. One time when I "saw" hhim he asked where my nana was and since we had rearranged the bedrooms he seemd lost. Another time (and this one is my personal favorite) My mom had just tucked me in for the night and left (I was tucked in pretty tight) and I didn't get the chance to ask for my favorite buddy to sleep with. ( a small blue bear) Enter grand pa who got it for me it just sorta floated to me (just like the movies)

I refuse to post my encounters here due to the fact that nobody ever believes me when i tell them. PM me...I might disclose them to you, if I like you that is. re: Ghosts

I taught at the Simmons Graduate School of Management in Boston (in an old brownstone that had been owned by a wealthy family before the great stock market crash). It was a residence in which the students lived and worked for 2 months before they graduated this intensive management school. It was not uncommon for us to be up at odd hours through the night, getting ready for classes or helping students in the kitchen/lounge.

We would sometimes see a woman, in a white nightgown, on the main staircase, always walking DOWN...never up...around 3:00 a.m. I saw her myself and not knowing the legend of the ghost, I called to her, thinking it was a student and making a joke about not being late for class.

The next morning when I spoke to one of the deans and found out about the ghost I was asked not to spread it around as it creeps out some of the students and faculty...but I often think of her and how she looked...just as if she was THERE. Very distinctive looking and those who have seen her all describe her in detail just as I saw her.
