Some people love "conversation view" on gmail. It stacks continuing conversations into what looks like a stack of playing cards. I hate it. Does anyone know a secret to permanently disabling that function?

I don't think that it's possible.

I love the stacking of conversations myself, but I really don't like that you can't get rid of just one message of a conversation.

I don't think it's possible. For some reason, when you use Gmail with a blackberry, it sends you a copy of every email you send out. I was told it's because of the conversation feature. sigh.

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

Damn. I just hate it.

Maybe I'm using the wrong side of my brain.

Problem solved. My gmail now is through Mozilla Thunderbird. Easy as pie to set it up. I still use my gmail address but the Mozilla Thunderbird layout is much more like I like it. (It's a bit like Outlook.)

It apparently isn't a current option, but they're adding it to the list of suggestions you can submit:
