Attention, LA-area people!
I'm singing two solos (and performing as part of the chorus in the opening number) in DREAM - A Tribute To Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. this coming Monday, Jan 21st at 8:30pm.
The concert - produced by EightyEights Cabaret - is being held at the gorgeous REPUBLIC restaurant/lounge, which is located at 650 N. La Cienega Blvd. in West Hollywood.
$15 cover. (CHEAP!)
You can check out the venue at https://www.therepublicla.com
I don't know the full line-up yet, but I do know that in addition to me, Brooke Wilkes, Shelly Goldstein, Jeffrey Landman, Ryan Black, Kristen Dowtin, and Anne Fraser-Thomas are all performing, plus we'll be backed by the always wonderful Brent Crayon and the Crayolas. (A three - and sometimes four - piece band.)
Hope you can make it! These shows are always lots of fun.
xo

Gosh girl, you have more irons in the fire than a country club hit by an arsonist. If I lived in LA I'd be going broke keeping up with you.

LOL... Yeah, I'm a little neurotic in that way. I have to keep busy, or else!

Just a quick note to say I've had to cancel my appearance at the Martin Luther King tribute at 88's Cabaret this evening because my flu has rebounded, and I feel just awful and have spent the past couple of days in bed.
I'm very disappointed, but there's really nothing I can do about it.
Best wishes to all the wonderful performers who are singing tonight!
Does someone need some chicken soup?

Awwwwww... Thanks, Diva! That soup looks delicious and very healing.
I can re-heat it for you!

yeah like you would actually do something kind for a person.
steve - don't bring your hate into a thread where you don't belong.

Thank you, Diva... If you could bring it to a simmer on the stove, that would be great. (Somehow, it tastes better when it's heated the old-fashioned way, as opposed to the microwave, you know?)
The Progresso chicken soup is 100 times better than Campbells.

nitsua: Good to know.
Actually, I have a weakness for the Lipton kind. You know, the one that comes in an envelope? I know it's horrible and not very good for you, but I love the salty goodness.
My husband actually makes a wonderful home-made chicken soup from scratch.
So sorry you're sick, my dear!
Sending lots of soup, sleep and sympathy your way.
I would NEVER use a microwave!
And I'd heat it just long enough until there's some steam coming off of it.

Feel better, Erika.
That picture is such a tease. It's cold tonight, and I could really go for some hot, homemade chicken soup with pastina!

Thanks, guys. My husband's taking care of me, so I'm OK.

Tell your husband that caregivers need care too. Tell him to hop a plane for a free massage from me!!!!
Broadway Legend Joined: 8/12/04
LOL... Will do! (Although, after paying for cross-country airfare, wouldn't that actually end up to be a rather expensive massage?)

Good point. I've never been very practical. That would totally undo the progress of your cd sale.
The Progresso kind is, if I recall, actually healthier than Campbells too,
and there's a new brand around here called 'Eating Right" distributed bt Lucerne which touts itself as "health" concious, and it has more sodium, calories, and other gunk than Progresso and Campbells.....def not "health concious.
Sorry you're sick Erika, I can relate...brought that goop back with me from Philly, and I am on my second Z-Pac antibiotic to get rid of it......and it had better as I have majo appointments in the Bay Area starting Monday,
Diva....Steve microwaves his soup (ugh)....I go the old-fashioned route.
