Homestead used to be easy but now its hard...most of the good ones are costly now though...

I used Yahoo/geocities for years. Pretty easy and the pop ups aren't nearly annoying as they are on angelfire.

I really enjoy using freewebs.com. You have the choice of hand-coding the site yourself or of allowing the site to do it.
