sorry, this doesn't answer your question.. but where are you doing it?
are you going for the role of millie? if so, sing one of her songs. always makes casting easier. if u can do it well, why not prove it right off the bat?
No, do not do anything from Thoroughly Modern Millie! I know they said "choose ANY song", but you should never use a song from the show you're auditioning for unless they ask you. I don't know TMM too well so I can't recommend music from any particular show.
Ooh, you are so lucky! Look for something very upbeat and jazzy. What part are you auditioning for?
well to jess925...i'm auditioning it at the circle theater and to my fair lady, i think the thing is is that you go there and sing and they teach a dance and you read lines and they assign you to what they think is a good part for you, unless nothign is a good part for you, then they just tell you no.
should i sing sunday kind of love by etta james???
Well do you have a particular role in mind? if so then you should choose a song that would help the directors point you in that direction.
NEVER sing anything from the show you are auditioning from unless you are told to by the casting people. Otherwise you are cutting yourself out for a callback.
When they see you sing a song by that character, they say, well, I just saw their callback, and I wasn't that impressed. Trust me.
Find a song in a similar fashion to one of Millie's songs. I have no examples right now, sorry! but think about Millie's character and try to find another song that reflects her, or her desires.
