Good news!

Red-carpet bombing in store for Star?

Star Jones may have the red carpet pulled out from under her. Insiders are buzzing that the E! network is unhappy with some of Miss Jones' awards-show antics, which include wheedling celebrities to come on her ABC show, "The View," and babbling about her lavish wedding instead of focusing on the stars.

In a bizarre "Live From the Red Carpet" turn at the Grammys, Star's new hubby, Al Reynolds, lurked behind her on the runway, taking no pains to avoid being seen on camera.

While E! consistently beats a number of other awards preshows, Star's Nielsen ratings at the Grammys were 40% below what Joan Rivers' were the year before.

A rep for Jones said any talk of her and E! severing ties is "ridiculous."

"Star loves E! and E! loves Star," spokeswoman Jen Plante said.

But it sounds like tough love at the entertainment network, and Star's going to have to tiptoe on her Payless stilettos at the Oscars Sunday - her last gig on her contract - if she wants to be reupped.

E! chief of development Jeff Shore told us: "We have her for 2005, and we have the option for 2006. We're very happy with her, and she is kicking Joan's a-. We'll take a look at the option after the Oscars."

i'm no fan of Joan's, or this genre, but i find Star Jones pretty scary too. Karma will getcha.

Kathy Griffin I think is the best at this - she loves it, but does not take it too seriously.

However, she is SMART, and many celebs don't wan't to talk to her, as they feel she is making fun of them. And if they are self-important blowhards, then they should steer clear.

i need to get that DVD. i hated her on SUDDENLY SUSAN (felt like she was ripping off the Vicki Lewis character on NEWSRADIO, but then a lot of SS seemed to be doing that) and hated her on SEINFELD guest-stint, but like her stand-up a lot. i'd watch a show like that with her hosting. i agree those celebs who can't keep up with her would make for fun viewing.

When I saw the title of this thread the only response I could think of off the top of my head was "she's dead!" from Wicked...LOL.....

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

Me too! I read the title and I heard Kristin Chenoweth screeching in my ear: "GOOD NEWS!!!"

Thank God Star is getting booted. She was awful. And Kathy Griffin was ridiculous. I love her stand-up, but she was just being completely obnoxious on the red carpet.

I've been watching TV Guide Channel's red carpet coverage with Joan and Melissa. They are the queens of the red carpet.

smart move on E's part. Star Jones has enough money and exposure as is.

Beaverhausen- I understand that. And I absolutely hated it.

It would have been okay if I found her ridiculousness to be funny. But I didn't. I actually found it quite annoying. Updated On: 2/23/05 at 05:16 PM

BEAVERHAUSEN i like your avatar, is it a painting? there is another one on here right now, a guy in a t-shirt, i know i've seen that artist's work before, but can't place it...very homoerotic naturalistic watercolors...

There's a fun anecdote about Star's experience at the NBA All-Star Game here. Just scroll down, though the whole column is pretty good if you want to read it. :)
