Hey Kids,
Just got back from the last screening of the French horror flick INSIDE at Lincoln Center.
Ho. Lee. Sh*t. AUDITION was a fairy tale. Seriously.
The plot is threadbare. If I say that the story is about a pregnant woman being stalked by a scissors-wielding maniac (played by BETTY BLUE's Beatrice Dalle), I have basically told you the whole plot. The fun here is in the superb direction (this has the scariest use of music and weird sound effects I have seen in some time) and the gore. Ohhhh, yes the gore. Lots of it. Tons. Gore like you have never seen. Each time you think this flick can't possibly take it any further--whee!--off it goes.
Amazingly, it never found a distributor. Probably too gory and there is absolutely no way it could be cut down to an R. Trust me, kids...this is the horror flick your friends are going to reccommend to you with popped eyes and slack jaws. Keep an eye out.
I have been following this film for a while now.

Yeah, but what does Al Gore have to do with it?
Released today! I already bought my copy for a little post tax-season de-stressing.
Gorehounds rejoice!
lol - I read that and thought Al had announced!
So I just watched the unrated version.
I'm speechless.
In terms or "realistic" gore (as opposed to Evil Dead, Dead Alive type of over the top gore) this was definitely the nastiest film I've seen. And I've seen 'em all.
Everytime they did something I thought "there is no way they can top that", and then they topped it.
An exercise in sheer brutality.
*************SPOILERS**************
I have 2 questions:
Why did she (the mother) do that thing to herself in the kitchen with the knitting needle? Was that supposed to help her somehow?
And why did the officer beat her in the end? Did he just realize it was her?
Wow, this movie was extremely impressive.
I watched it earlier today and don’t even know where to begin. It was not only brutally disgusting and unbearably disturbing, but completely brilliant and somewhat surprising; given such a simple setting and what could have been an extremely boring storyline.
As far as gore and suspense go,(not to mention the creepy music that practically made me cringe every 10 minutes) this one takes the cake, easy.
I never thought I would ever see a movie that even compares to one of Dario Argento’s graphic and sanguineous masterpieces, but this one is up there. It was far more realistic than many of Argento’s films, and yet still managed to live up to the unadulterated bloodbaths that were Suspiria and Opera. I am completely blown away.
Pure genius. That is all.
SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YA GOT SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why did she (the mother) do that thing to herself in the kitchen with the knitting needle? Was that supposed to help her somehow?
I think its because her larynx had been broken and she couldn't breathe, so....
And why did the officer beat her in the end? Did he just realize it was her?
I think because the officer had been lobotomized, he was a little fuzzy and thought she was the killer.
Yeah, that's kinda what I thought too Borstal.
