Lights!
You saw right through me!!! -)
YES, John Tyler, our 10th President, was the FIRST President to marry twice.
His first wife, Letitia, an Invalid, died in 1842 while he was President.
Two years later, he married Julia Gardiner, a woman thirty years his junior!!!:

WAY TO GO, Lights!
Now for your bonus points:
John Tyler had a QUITE UNIQUE relationship with his Political Party while he was President. What exactly happened?

What was the QUITE UNIQUE relationship President Tyler had with his own Political Party while in Office?

Kj!
You know history as well as you know Theatre!!!
YES, when Tyler became President and began veoteoing ALL the legislation pushed through by the Whigs in Congress, the Whigs promptly had a National Convention, did NOT invite Tyler, and promptly expelled the President from his own Political Party!:

You are ON TOP of it, Kj!
I guess I have to bestow prizes on BOTH Lights and Kj tonight--so here it is:
Your spouse will die after a long lingering illness, but please don't despair, a pretty young thing thirty years your junior is about to come into your life!
Make it an excellent weekend, folks!
