Just discovered this...has anyone bought stuff here? It seems their organic and regular stuff is pretty cheap, for basic stuff, much better than my nabe el cheapo supermarket (which, in this economy is raising prices every wk!) and FreshDirect (overpriced, imho). I'm wondering if it pays off to buy certain stuff in bulk quanities?
Any other sites (stores) anyone can recommend?
I'm in midtown NYC where there's no decent shopping anymore. (I have NO car)
What about Costco, etc?

If you have the space to store it, and it's enough of a staple in your life that you'll use all of what you buy, sure. I've done it a number of times, and if you're actually going to use that much of one thing, the prices tend to be good.
I've been surfing for awhile, comparing prices tonight.
I think you're right LUVTMC, stuff like pantry items i.e., tuna,
pasta, condiments, are 1/2 the price I normally pay now.
I think I'm just gonna buy cases of some stuff. It's so easy shopping on-line...it's worth the shipping chg. so I don't have to schlep all over town.

I would never dream of shopping for produce (fruits & vegetables) online! Same with fresh fish or meats. I want to select my own. I'd never buy frozen or chilled items online either.
However, for certain kinds of foods, the internet is great. What small town market in America will carry some of this stuff?

I just bought a bigass bottle of ketchup!
krissy...i'm not buying anything like fruits, veggies, or meat. i, too love to go food shopping, but like to always have sufficient pantry items. I found some really good prices for this stuff on amazon.
just stuff like whole wheat pasta, albacore tuna, paper towels, detergent, condiments, etc. pet supplies....

The best thing to buy in bulk is couscous. It's better than pasta and better than rice. It takes about seven minutes to cook.
I'm sure most of you have had it before but for those that haven't you've got to try it.

I order produce and meat from Peapod all the time and I've never had an issue with the quality.
