Went to Ground Zero after class today. I was glad to be able to finally pay my respects to the heros of 911.
Can't quite decide for sure what I would like to be built there.
What are your thoughts?

Glebb - Like the Freedom Tower design. It seems to reach up and point to the sky.

I'd prefer a garden or something equally healing, but I understand that the land is worth too much not to put up another skyscraper.

I don't want anything there. I want the World Trade Center back. Sorry, I know this isn't helpful.

Also would like to see a park there. Economic realities will not see this dream come to reality. Updated On: 6/25/05 at 06:26 AM

I don't like the new design, it's stark, and not attractive, to me anyway. I agree with a park, but as said before, it's ain't going to happen......

A park would be nice. As for the design, haven't seen it yet...

"I’d use the original blueprints and design the “new” Trade Center exactly as it had been. But I’d insist that one of the towers be exactly 229 feet, four inches shorter than the other. It’s an uncomplicated gimmick to guarantee remembrance. Because, as long as these new towers would stand, someone unaware would ask, “why is one of them shorter than the other?” Whereupon an old-timer could explain, solemnly, that the difference between the heights of the towers is intentional - it’s exactly 2,752 inches.
One inch for each of the victims.
It’s all the memorial we really need."

This is the best proposal I've seen. It's from Keith Olberman's blog. I'll post the link to the whole thing. The freedom tower is so ugly. I'd also put the globe statue that's was moved to Battery Park back in the courtyard.

Am I the only who thinks that no matter what type of structure is built it automatically becomes another target?

Rest in peace, Iflitifloat.

I'm with Trump on this one.
Rebuild the Twin Towers, only taller.
