Stewie got a million times funnier once he (mostly) lost the determined-to-take-over-the-world thing, and got more and more fey.

Hm. This is one of the few times I'm regretting not watching TV anymore.
Don't regret watching TV, since a) it's mostly terrible, and b) Family Guy has DVDs these days.
It's awfully good, though. Seth McFarlane clearly loves musical theater, though I died a little when Peter said "If you wanted to do a BAD show, we should have just done RENT!".
