I enjoyed this movie again last night when I was battling this stomach virus. What a fun, camp spoofy movie.
Why hasn't THIS been musicalized and brought to Broadway.
I love how Rose cheers up Celeste by taking her to a mall in Paramus so she can be deluged by fans.

This movie is hysercial. Cathy Moriarity is my favorite.
It is in the process of being musicalised. I read about it a year ago, I think one of the creative team of the Steel Magnolias revival might be doing it.

I don't even count this movie as a "guilty" pleasure...it's simply a pleasure!! Kevin Kline doing Death Of A Salesman at a dinner theater? PRICELESS.
I will proudly say "I love this movie!!!" There I said it.
I love show business stories in general, and this is one of the funniest.

I totally agree. The movie is a classic.
I think I have to watch it again.
It gets funnier with each viewing!

Who would you cast?
And, I totally love Kevin Kline in this--and the way Sally Field is sooo over the top is priceless. And Whoopi as the only voice of reason amidst the insanity.
And there's Teri Hatcher pre-Lois & Clark and DH.
Robert Downey Jr. and Gary Marshall...omigosh. Hysterical.
Carrie Fisher as the casting director.
Elizabeth Shue's evolution from a wannabe to a diva.
Kathy Najimy as the beleagured Wardrobe Mistress!
Just looking at the cast makes me wonder how they got so lucky to snare such a wonderful ensemble of talent.
