MGM has the rights to Clarice and they are BROKE. It shouldn't hurt to see a reinvention of such an iconic character, especially when the film Hannibal really left a sour taste in people's mouths from Clarice fans (not all the movie's fault because those Harris books had some unforgivable plotting and Fuller has done a good job reverse engineering and re-working a lot of the broad stuff in those books).

Holy Flying F#ck! Just saw the finale. We know there is help on the way. There were two phone calls out. Any or all can go at this point. Will be interesting to see season 3.

That finale left me in awe and completely repulsed at the same time. I'm a huge fan of the series but for an instant while watching the finale I started thinking that it was slipping into torture porn territory. It left me bitter that Hannibal didn't get his comeuppance.

I was hoping that Alana would have at least maimed Hannibal before his escape leaving her to wrestle her demons next season. It would have given her character a bit more heft other than serving as Will/Hannibal's jump-off.

Knowing bureaucrats the way I do, someone must be scapegoated. I can just see Cynthia Nixon's character IG Kade Purnell grilling Alana over her lapse in judgment and questionable ethics. To the best of my recollection she had already issued warrants for the arrests of Jack and Will.

I see your point Roxy. My one nit is the time line. Alana called 911 before entering Hannibal's home then an eternity elapsed while Hannibal and Abigail did their dastardly deeds.

Honestly, had that been the series finale, I am not sure how it can work with him getting caught in the end. The potential deaths are more painful here because of character familiarity (poor Abigail ) but more 'torture porn' (I don't think it is) than the ripped skin scene or Mason's auto-cannibalism? No way. I still get sick at that skin ripping scene, as awful as see necks slit. It's a masterfully crafted show in terms of sound and design, which for me it ups the unsettling feeling. It would be like if DePalma came out of Giallo horror.

Also, this show is high-end pulp. The techniques and filmmaking all indicate a nightmarish dreamscape. Not reality. It completely fits Fuller's world so I don't mind the plot-holes, such as the fact we saw no real substantial fall-out over the Chilton-Miriam incident.
