Your French must be rusty Roxie - here is the real story - and the set was not destroyed...
A fire on the set of "Rome," a completed HBO series on the ancient empire, has damaged part of the famed Cinecitta film studios. No one was reported injured.
The blaze, which started late Thursday, burned through about 32,000 square feet, firefighters said. The sprawling complex on the outskirts of Rome covers more than 715,000 square yards, including buildings, gardens, movie sets and offices.
Officials said the site where the fire broke out contained a large amount of highly flammable, synthetic material. The cause of the fire wasn't clear, but officials ruled out arson.
The main set of "Rome," which includes a mock Roman forum, wasn't destroyed, but some parts were heavily damaged, said HBO spokeswoman Mara Mikialian. She said shooting of the second season had already been completed.
It took dozens of firefighters about three hours to put out the blaze, which sent columns of thick smoke high into the sky.
The fire didn't affect the historic part of the 70-year-old studio, which houses the sets of classics such as "Ben-Hur."
Cinecitta, on the southern outskirts of Rome, was built by Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini in 1937. Over the decades, it has been used for about 1,000 productions by directors such as Federico Fellini and Vittorio De Sica.
Hollywood directors came to Cinecitta in the 1950s for movies including "Ben-Hur" and "Quo Vadis." More recently, Martin Scorsese used the studios to shoot "Gangs of New York," starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Daniel Day-Lewis.

Roxy,
That's the second post of yours that hasn't had a link to the item you started the thread about in the first place...
What's with that?

I have never posted a link so i have no idea how to do it
I was just reporting what was reported on french news. I did not even see it on regular news outlet
By the way, Mrs R speaks French fluently & she thought the same thing . I do not speak it so i was just going on subtitles & the video which showed the Forum set. Sometimes 2 plus 2 do not make 4. Sorry for the error

Ooh! It's really easy.
When you post a response, under the message box there is a box that says "Optional Link". You just cut and paste the URL page address in the box and then, make up a spiffy title for the link, and put that in the "Link Title" box.
Easy cheesy, really!

Not for at least a week. Mrs R & I are off to Vegas
Hard as it may be to believe, I will not post during that time. I will be to busy losing money
I also want to change my avatar to a drawing of the ROXY vertical sign. All good things come to those who wait.
i think it would be great if they took Nathan Lane over to the Forum set & shot an HBO version of A Funny Thing with the complete score.
