HELP! i need a musical theater song that is more leaning towards opera#1

I'm looking for an amazing song for soprano that is from a musical but it more opera like Glitter and Be Gay or Art is Calling for Me.
This is for a competition and I've already used This Place is Mine from Phantom and Art is Calling For Me from the Enchantress.

Any suggestions??????

those two songs are good. Also you can look at Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado.

Look into stuff from Kismet, particularly "Baubles, Bangles, and Beads."
Also stuff from any operetta (particular those by G&S or Lehar), or something from Music in the Air.

"Love is where you find it" from The kissing bandit. "One kiss" from The new moon. "One more kiss" from Follies. "Falling in love with love" from The boys from Syracuse. Stuff from Charlie Girl such as "Bells will ring" and "Like love".

The Act One curtain solo from 110 in the Shade is as good a dramatic soprano show-aria as you're going to get. It is called "Old Maid". This song lets you go everywhere from anger to despair to sexual frustration and then to a major ending.

Listen to Inga Swenson sing it on the 1963 recording. The more recent recording with Audra McDonald is not done nearly so large and if you listen to that one you won't know what I'm talking about.

For laughs, take a listen to the 1962 recording of Forum with Zero Mostel, particularly "That Dirty Old Man" sung by Ruth Kobart. Again, this works better for a dramatic soprano.

In both cases you may want to consider taking your own accompanist. You may want to add your own ornamentation to either song and and play with the tempos too.

Check out songs from Street Scene by Kurt Weill. It's really operatic :)

"Poor Wandering One" from Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance is a good one. Though not as operatic, "The Glamorous Life" from A Little Night Music is a beautiful song as well. Hope this helps!
