I'm going to prom this year with my best friend who's a senior in high school. We decided that we're going to prom as Fred and Ginger, the dance duo. He's got his top hat and tails and bow tie. I just bought this beautiful cream colored dress and the top part is decorated in hundreds of pearls. It's very antique looking and classy, something Ginger would wear with the long elegant skirt. Now, I need some help with some elegant up 'dos that I can incorporate pearls with. If you have any pictures as to what you think I'm talking about, or even a website would be great, you can email me at wickedfan547@yahoo.com. Thank you so much!!
Well, first of all, he's gay, and second of all, here's a hairdo sample.
Ginger RULES.
You want early Ginger. 1930s Ginger. Plantinum blonde, with lots of curls at the end. Short do.
That's a gorgeous photo.
well, as to your date's "specialness" at least he's letting you be Ginger.
Be sure to post photos from the big night so we can all see!
She could go with a Kitty Foyle look, too...a little bit later in the canon.
She has a SUPER fancy do in LADY IN THE DARK too
she did ask to incorporate pearls, so maybe instead of the updo she can have soft curls in the back from crown to nape and push them back on the side with pearl combs...very SWINGTIME.

that look IS beautiful, but unless she has La Rogers heart-shape face already and/or a really good make-up, not sure it will "read" Ginger Rogers. The style just doesn't look like the iconic Rogers most would recognize (but not sure many current high schoolers would recognize La Rogers anyway, even IF you were at a HSPVA or some such magnet school).
just a bit gay-er than usual. The whole premise of promming is riddled with fey-ness.
Double post
Why are none of these pictures showing up for me?
Because this thread is three years old.

I was hoping it bobbed to the surface because we had news. Like maybe the prom date was home from college and called elphabaFan to tell her something important.....

BWAAHHHAAA! I didn't even notice.
Why is a three year old thread popping up? Are we going Back to the Past? Should I dust off my Electric Typewriter?
Ha! Stock- I didn't notice either. I guess the original poster never put up any pictures. As soon as I opened the thread I was hoping diva would post something and I was right. I just wish I could have seen the suggestion! Oh well!
