I was in a bookstore and came across this. This may, in fact, be a new low. A novelized version of a musical. I don't even know how you can do that.
"Good Morning Baltimore!," Tracy sang joyfully with a gleam in her eye. "Every day is like an open door!"

There was one for Dreamgirls, too.
I used to love the movie novelizations when I was a kid.

I remember a few years ago there was a Curb Your Enthusiasm book. Noone knew much about it and I thought it was going to be a novelization.
"Yes, I AM your n*," replied Larry, with a hope that Kray-zee Eyez Killah would not be able to detect the thick beads of nervous sweat running down his whitebread neck.

Me too Kringas. When I was a kid, the novelization of 'The Sting' was my favorite book. I have a friend who still thinks it's cool to brag she "Read" Star Wars before she saw the movie.

In the novelization of Ferris Bueller's Day Off Ferris had two additional siblings that weren't in the movie.

I NEED the Hairspray novelization PRONTO.
I read BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and BATMAN RETURNS, as well as ADVENTURES IN BABY-SITTING and GREMLINS. Also, I found a novelization of WEST SIDE STORY, which was very insightful.
I'm not going to lie, I love novelizations of films and shows. It just adds to the fandom and love if you have a particular favorite.
